What WAEC GCE CBT Really Means
WAEC GCE CBT means you’ll write your exam using a computer instead of paper and pen.
The word CBT stands for Computer-Based Test.
It simply means that all the questions — and your answers — are done on a computer screen.
So instead of filling bubbles with a pencil or writing long answers in a booklet, you’ll be clicking your answers using a mouse or keyboard.
What Makes It Different

No answer sheet or question paper: Everything appears on your computer screen.

Automatic marking: Once you finish, the computer sends your answers directly to WAEC’s system for marking.

Timer on screen: You’ll see how much time you have left for each paper.

How It Works (Step by Steps)

On Exam Day
- -Go to your centre early.
-You’ll be assigned a computer to use — one per person
-Bring your exam slip and valid ID.
Logging In

Enter your login details (given by the exam officers).

You’ll see your exam name and your subjects on the screen.

Answering Questions

The questions appear one by one on the computer.

For each question:

Click the correct option (A, B, C, or D).

You can skip and come back if unsure.

There’s a timer at the top showing how much time you have left.

Submitting

When you’re done (or time runs out), the system automatically submits your answers.

You’ll see a message like “Exam submitted successfully.”
